This post is a message to anyone who has ever felt inadequate, lost, not good enough. Not thin enough, not tall enough, not pretty enough! Too different, too ugly, to broad, too short. Whatever it may be. This is a message to you.

I recently did a poll on my Instagram asking you all what you struggled with the most. Unbelievably out of 400 people who voted, 84% voted body confidence! I appreciate you all being so honest with me but also it opened my eyes and made me realise I’m not the only one who struggles with it. I receive comments and messages every day off people and I wanted to let you all know you’re not alone!

In my opinion, we spend too much time comparing ourselves to others. When in reality we are only ever going to be ourselves. We can never be anyone else so why not lift ourselves up and be the best version we can possibly be. Make a list of all the reasons you are fabulous. Think about your skills, your traits, anything you have achieved, why your friends love you! Make a list and keep it on your phone. Whenever you feel crappy or want to be someone else look at that list! I made that list on my notes in my phone and I read it now and then to give me a little pick me up.

When we talk about ourselves, either in our head or out loud. We usually talk in a negative way. Put ourselves down or stress about things. Imagine talking like that to a friend, would you expect them to continue being your friend? No! Pay attention to the words you use to describe yourself, they impact you more than you think.

Feeling low? Go for a nap or a run. Change your focus. It actually works to reset your brain and get out of a negative mindset. Put on some good music, it’s scientifically proven to improve your mood.

This is a message to you, talk about yourself positively and you will get positive results. Don’t worry about the small things, they are small for a reason.

    Comparisons most of the time lead to bitterness and resentment but when handled correctly they can give us goals to reach as opposed to reasons to feel that we are “less than”.
